ZB114 ZigBee Wireless Enabled Multi-way Power Socket

IDC in partnership with CMD Ltd, the UK's leading office power, ergonomics & cable management business have developed the ZB114 wireless enabled multi-way socket. The ZB114 is the ideal product to reduce the carbon footprint of energy intensive offices such as call centres, stock dealing floors, foreign exchanges, banking centres and government facilities.

It is easy to use, integrating a single primary power sensitive socket, and up to five secondary sockets. The primary (red) socket is designed to accommodate the user’s PC, with the secondary sockets for other functions such as printers, monitors, scanners, (etc). The primary is programmed to switch off the power to the secondary sockets when the PC is in standby mode saving power when desk equipment is not in use. The unit is also fitted with two smart metering chips to measure the power consumed by the primary red socket and the total power taken by all sockets. The device also measures amps, volts, and power factor readings for remote monitoring.

Each ZB114 operates as a wireless router to extend the wireless network enabling up to 100 units to be connected to a single wireless gateway. Energy data and control signals for group shut down are available for scheduling over the network. IDC can offer an extensive range of remote monitoring and supervisory control solutions from simple web browsers to hosted servers for analysis of data being consumed by large numbers of power blocks, enabling efficiency comparisons and power savings to be calculated.
